Continuum effects for the mean-field and pairing properties of weakly bound nuclei
نویسندگان
چکیده
Continuum effects in the weakly bound nuclei close to the drip-line are investigated using the analytically soluble Pöschl-Teller-Ginocchio potential. Pairing correlations are studied within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method. We show that both resonant and non-resonant continuum phase space is active in creating the pairing field. The influence of positive-energy phase space is quantified in terms of localizations of states within the nuclear volume. PACS numbers: 21.10.Gv,21.10.Pc,21.60.-n,21.60.Cs Typeset using REVTEX

Mean-field description of ground-state properties of drip-line nuclei: Pairing and continuum effects.
Ground-state properties of exotic even-even nuclei with extreme neutron-to-proton ratios are described in the framework of the self-consistent mean-field theory with pairing formulated in coordinate space. This theory properly accounts for the influence of the particle continuum, which is particularly important for weakly bound systems. The pairing properties of nuclei far from stability are st...
متن کاملContinuum HFB calculations with finite range pairing interactions
A new method of calculating pairing correlations in coordinate space with finite range interactions is presented. In the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) approach the mean field part is derived from a Skyrme-type force whereas the pairing field is constructed with a Gogny force. An iterative scheme is used for solving the integro-differential HFB equations via the introduction of a local equivalen...

Nuclear many-body theory is used to study nuclear matter and finite nuclei at extreme isospin. In-medium interactions in asymmetric nuclear matter are obtained from (Dirac-) Brueckner theory. Neutron skin formation in Ni and Sn isotopes is investigated by relativistic mean-field calculations in DDRH theory with density dependent meson-nucleon vertices. Applications to light nuclei are discussed...
متن کاملContinuum Coupling and Pair Correlation in Weakly Bound Deformed Nuclei
The RI-beam facilities in the new generation will increase significantly the number of experimentally accessible nuclei, especially in medium and heavy mass regions. We may reach nuclei close to the neutron drip-line in the 10 ≤ Z ≤ 20 and N ≥ 20 region, where a bunch of deformed neutron-rich nuclei are expected1. This will provide us with a new opportunity to study interplay among the presence...

Received (received date) Revised (revised date) RMF + BCS description of drip-line nuclei Recently it has been demonstrated, considering Ni and Ca isotopes as prototypes, that the relativistic mean-field plus BCS (RMF+BCS) approach wherein the single particle continuum corresponding to the RMF is replaced by a set of discrete positive energy states for the calculation of pairing energy provides...
